News has recently been released of a gun for the application of corrosion inhibitor to the interiors of cylinder walls. &c. fig. 1. This apparatus has been evolved by Air Industrial Developments Ltd. in conjunction with the Air Ministry and the Ministry of Supply and has been ordered in large quantities by the latter. Although primarily designed for the application of inhibitor through the sparking plug holes, the TF.3.C1 Mk. II gun can equally well be used for other inaccessible parts where a reliable complete coating must be applied and where visual inspection is not possible.
