WE are not this year, for reasons given last month, publishing a commentary provided by an outside contributor on the thirteenth S.B.A.C. Display and indeed the new types demonstrated, with the exception of the Bristol Britannia and the Avro 698, were dealt with from the design point of view by MR. NEWELL in his article in the September issue—which, by the way, it is gratifying to find has aroused even more interest than we had expected. None the less we do not feel that we can let the event pass wholly without record in these columns and we therefore propose to set down some of the impressions gained from our own observations and conversations with others.
