WE were very much impressed by the enterprise of the INSTITUTION OF PRODUCTION ENGINEERS in calling a conference on the problems of aircraft production. So far as we know this is the first time such a meeting has ever been held—in this country at any rate—and we therefore decided to mark the occasion by printing in AIRCRAFT ENGINEERING the complete papers with full appreciation of the Institution's public spirit in arranging for the subject to be thoroughly ventilated and making the results available to a wider circle than those actually present on the ocasion in Southampton.
