The honeycomb core of a sandwich panel structure consists of bent metal strips a with flat‐topped orrugations, the strips being relatively offset so that only parts f of the flat tops are in contact, the strips being secured together at these zones. With this arrangement the inclined sides c and uncemented portions of the flat tops are free, thus enabling the panel to be given a curved shape without ‘saddle‐back’ distortion.
