IN Los Angeles in June 1955 the writer read a paper on fatigue of pressure cabins to the Anglo‐American Conference, and a British version of this paper was published in Aircraft Engineering for January 1956. The paper gave the first published account of fatigue tank testing for complete aircraft, and discussed some of the main design issues such as fuselage frames and passenger windows. Since that time much practical experience has been obtained; and it has been suggested that some of the earlier ideas and principles could usefully be extended and brought up to date.
