A monoplane aircraft comprising, in combination, a fuselage, wings fixed on said fuselage, horizontal tail‐surfaces mounted aft on said fuselage at a level higher than that of said wings, two jet engines positioned laterally on the outside of said fuselage on either side thereof, at an intermediate level with respect to those of said wings and horizontal tail‐surfaces and in the longitudinal direction at an intermediate position between said wings and horizontal tail‐surfaces, and supporting structures respectively connecting said jet engines to the fuselage.
