THE opening address at the centenary congress of the Royal Aeronautical Society, which was held in London in conjunction with the fifth congress of the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences, was given by H.R.H. Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, on Monday, September 12. Prince Philip's subject was ‘Influences on the Development of Aviation’.
