A discussion of the current trends in hydraulic pump design and a description of a new pump that will provide the solution to future requirements. THERE are perhaps two main reasons why radical changes in the design, philosophy of aircraft hydraulic pumps have taken place over the past five years or so; the change in the relative importance of the conditions upon which aircraft manufacturers select hydraulic equipment, and the increase in the horsepower requirements of aircraft hydraulic systems.
