The Numerical Control Division of Ferranti Limited, Dalkeith, Scotland, announce the development of an advanced third generation Numerical Conttol system to be known as Multiax. This is the latest addition to the wide range of Numerical Control equipment which won a 1967 Queen's Award to Industry for technological innovation. Basically designed for use in more complex machine tool applications, the system provides for machining in up to six axes.
