THIRTY‐FIVE months to the day after the memorandum of understanding was signed on May 17, 1965, by Mr Denis Healey and M Pierre Messmer on behalf of their respective governments to define a new programme for an advanced training and tactical support aircraft the first prototype, Jaguar E‐01, was rolled out at the Velizy‐Villacoublay factory of Breguet Aviation.
