Ishikawajima‐Harima Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. (IHI) of Tokyo are to manufacture the Rolls‐Royce Turbomeca Adour turbofan engine under licence in Japan. Under the terms of the agreement recently signed by the two companies, the IHI Aircraft Engine Division at Tanashi, Tokyo will build the Adour for installation in the T‐2 trainer aircraft being developed for the Japan Defence Agency (JDA).
