“We start 1973 financially strong with an order book of over £360m, nearly half of which is for export” is the timely message from Sir George Edwards to employees of the British Aircraft Corporation. Referring to possible mergers on a European scale, Sir George declares “There is no scope for an early rush into mergers for the sake of them. The establishment of a healthy market comes first”.
