THE ESCAPAC IE—1 advanced stabilised ejection seat system was developed by the Douglas Aircraft Co division of McDonnell Douglas for successful recovery of 4 crewmen at speeds of 0 to 450kt. The full 4‐place system and each of its components were fully qualified to all US Navy requirements to verify that the design objectives were met.
