In means lor over‐riding an automatic altitude control, the connection between the blower outlet and the pressure‐responsive device is provided with a leak or pressure‐relieving device operated by the pilot moving his throttle control beyond a stop, gate, or like obstruction. The figure shows the throttle valve f6 connected to a floating lever f1 actuated by the pilot's control f3 and by a relay device d2, the controlling valve b of which is connected to a pressure‐responsive device a supplied with blower pressure through a pipe g. This pipe is connected to a branch g2 leading to the atmosphere at g3 and controlled by a valve g6, which is opened by the pilot's throttle control f3 when this is moved beyond the stop, &c. A restriction g1 in the pipe g prevents damage due to back‐fires, and an adjustable restriction g4 is also provided in the branch g2. A valve b2, connected to the valve g6, may be provided as described in Specification 348,868 for substituting atmospheric pressure for blower‐outlet pressure in the relay device.
