Bonding methods — The Airbus A 300 as an example

It is probably less well known that bonding has come a long way to develop into one of the most modern and high‐quality assembly techniques in the aerospace industry. A high percentage of contemporary and future projects would be quite inconceivable both technically and economically without the bonding technique. VFW was well aware of the potential of bonding as early as 1958, and established a development and production department solely for the process of bonding.
