Perhaps in no other transport manufacturing industry is the relationship between powerplant and vehicle more critical than in the aircraft business. While an harmonious engine/ vehicle combination is a logical requirement of all transport modes it is a crucial prerequisite to a safe, efficient and reliable aeroplane.
