Prutec Ltd., the high technology venture capital arm of the Prudential Group — is investing £250,000 in the Poole company, Futair Ltd. The company, established in 1980, designs and manufactures specialised welded and fabricated structures for airlines, aircraft and hovercraft manufacturers. In 1981 a subsidiary, Aeroform Ltd., was formed to develop the use of carbon composites for aircraft seating. The primary benefit of this new application is the substantial weight reduction over the existing aluminium alloy seating.
