SUCCESSFUL production of components in ‘difficult’ materials, such as Nimonics and nickel iron, is based on years of cutting experience, and manufacturers often find that machine tool suppliers have difficulty in providing engineering support for these special applications. However for one such manufacturer, Lodge Ceramics Ltd, Rugby, Tarex Berger & Associates Ltd has developed a successful tooling and programming package for machining high alloy materials on a Hitec‐Turn 20 computer controlled lathe.
