WITH its new “home” in Berlin‐Brandenburg, at the borderline between Eastern and Western Europe, the International Aerospace Exhibition — ILA — hopes to become the shop window and marketplace of an entirely new economic centre of aviation and space activities. The political opening and economic liberalisation of the former East Bloc countries means a confrontation with the free market and integration in international standards for their whole aerospace activities.
