AIRCRAFT manufacturer, Deutsche Airbus has placed a contract worth £1.8 million with Industrial Acoustics Company (IAC) of Staines, U.K., for a new aero engine test facility. The German company has ordered a special ground run‐up pen capable of testing all of its Airbus series aircraft. The run‐up pen will be used to carry out full flight system checks and, more importantly, allow Deutsche Airbus to fly newly‐built A321 aircraft out of its Hamburg base for the first time.
