Apparatus for protecting aircraft surfaces from ice accumulation, which comprises means forming a source of supply of ice‐preventing fluid, an absorbent covering material permeable to said fluid on the surface to be protected from ice accumulation and means for conveying said fluid from said first mentioned means to the inner surface of said covering.
