Flight Refuelling, which has manufacturing sites at Wimborne, Dorset and South Molton, Devon, is upgrading its existing Pathtrace PAMS off-line programming facilities with the CAM specialist's latest Windows 95/NT based EdgeCAM system.

Key attributes of Pathtrace Engineering Systems Limited of Reading's EdgeCAM were the facility to import CAD generated component geometry via IGES and its overall competence as a milling package. This was especially so when the speed and economy with which a CNC program can be generated is taken into account. In addition, the Code Wizard facility in EdgeCAM offers the opportunity to tailor CNC code for individual machines in-house, in preference to external commissioning.
