New to the Mitutoyo range of precision measuring instruments is the RA 114/116 Series of Roundtest measuring machines. These products are designed provide a solution to all roundness measurement requirements and include the facility to analyse not only roundness, but also concentricity, squareness, parallelism and other features.

An assessment of each of the parameters measured is made possible by either a display which indicates both roundness and centre co-ordinate of the workpiece, or a polar chart on which centres or off centred profiles can be recorded.

The single column RA114 is designed for shopfloor use and features a measurement unit, data processing unit, clear LC and integrated display. A high-speed graphic thermal printer is also built in. Fully portable and incorporating a high precision turntable, it includes an auto measurement mode under which measurements and print outs can be undertaken from start to finish by the single touch of a button.

The RA 116 series is a PC-controlled multi-purpose roundness measuring system that includes Roundpak 100 software which is Windows 95 compatible. Measured data can be saved on hard and floppy disc and part programs created including the measurement analysis,print out procedure.

RA114 and RA116 units feature a measuring range of ±1,000µm (±0.4in.), a force of 70-100µm and a rotating accuracy of (0.07+6H/1,000)µm. Maximum workpiece load is 20kg and maximum diameter 440mm. Both models are available with a range of accessories and in versions provided with Digimatic micrometer heads for easy centring and levelling of the workpiece.
