Bodycote Materials Testing Ltd is pleased to announce the acquisition of the former Rolls Royce plc,International Research and Development (RR-IRD) laboratory. The business is located in the North East of England at Walker, Newcastle. This recent acquisition further cements Bodycote's ties to the aerospace and industrial power sectors and also brings a wealth of valuable experience to the group. The laboratory has many years experience of serving high technology manufacturers and has a superb high temperature (creep) laboratory, an expertise that Bodycote could previously not offer. The laboratory also undertakes a range of other mechanical and fatigue testing services. Component residual life assessment is a further speciality offered by the laboratory and reflects its background in the aerospace and power generation businesses.
