Gould Alloys Limited, an independent stockholder and distributor of metals to the aerospace and defence industries, has won the prestigious Derbyshire Business Award for 1999.

Selected from a line of international companies after a series of presentations to a judging panel of leading industrialists, bankers and accountants, this is the first time the company has entered the competition. The prize is in recognition of the company's continual efforts to add value to its products and for applying innovative ideas in the supply of materials to benefit customers.

The award, a crystal glass trophy, was presented to senior Gould Alloys'managers Gerry Clark and Keith Heppenstall by the Duke of Devonshire at a special award dinner held at Chatsworth House.
