MTTA has published the 1999 edition of the Basic Facts booklet which summarises recent trends in the UK machine tool industry.

The outline of the industry includes data for production, exports, imports,consumption and employment; the trade figures are also shown by product type and leading trading partners.

Basic Facts also reflects data compiled by Gardner Publications Inc. which shows that the UK is the world's eighth largest machine tool manufacturing nation and is seventh in the export league table.
