Fire seals for Alenia C-27J

Dunlop Precision reports that it has been chosen to supply a variety of seals, mostly of a fireproof type, for the nacelle of the new C-27J military transport aircraft, developed by Lockheed Martin Alenia Tactical Transport Systems (LMATTS), based in Turin.
The fire seals are manufactured from a fire-retardant silicone compound reinforced with fabric and are supplied to GKN Westland Aerospace, where the nacelles are being built and to AIT, Burnley, a Dowty company, where the engine air intake and exhaust sections are manufactured.
Dunlop Precision is also supplying GKN Westland Aerospace with a variety of other, conventional silicone rubber aerospace seals in a range of sizes and profiles and has developed a special flexible seal for AIT to fit between the mid- and lower ducts of the air intake.
