GB Patent 2327399 describes a cabin decompression system for an aircraft. It has a canopy and means to break or jettison the canopy (during pilot ejection)which is coupled to means to decompress the aircraft with respect to the external air pressure prior to jettisoning/breakage. The decompression means may be a valve such as a modified cabin pressurisation dump valve. The system is preferably automatically selectable to either an operational or a non-operational mode, depending on the aircraft altitude.
