Working with ESA,Airtel will be part of a consortium that will develop the new Satellite Data Link System (SDLS) Demonstrator. The partnership will construct a realistic,real-time demonstration version of a mobile satellite communications system for aircraft. SDLS will ultimately provide the satellite infrastructure to enable the support of a higher density of aircraft within key economic aviation areas such as the North Atlantic. SDLS will support ATN based communications services and thus represents a potentially significant development market for the company.
