Qatar Airways first to fly with personal inseat DVD Players

IEC International has supplied and integrated its new "in-seat" DVD Players within the premier class cabin of an Airbus A320 operated by Qatar Airways. This is the first in a contract that will see eleven aircraft including options added to Qatar Airways fleet.

IEC have supplied the total system which includes the 8.6 monitor and arm assembly as well as the DVD player, Passenger Control Unit and associated power supply. The system provides the first class passenger with a seat based personal AVOD server, which can offer the user a menu based selection of movies, magazine and audio programming held on a DVD disk. Exploiting DVD inherent capabilities enables IEC to offer the industry a low cost option to "larger scale" systems offering similar functionality.
