Manugistics acquires Western Data Systems
Manugistics (Nasdaq: MANU), a global provider of Enterprise Profit Optimisation (EPO) solutions, reports that it has acquired the assets and business of privately-held Western Data Systems (WDS), headquarted in Calabasas,California. Manugistics believes that this acquisition creates one of the largest Aerospace and Defense (A&D) installed client bases in the industry,and enhances a uniquely robust solution set for optimising the complex Service and Parts Management (S&PM) processes of these asset-intensive organisations.
WDS, with $28 million revenues last year, is a major provider of application software and services to A&D organisations-with more than 135 organisations and 33,000 concurrent users worldwide. Manugistics purchased the assets and business of WDS for a combination of cash and Manugistics stock. The acquisition is expected to be accretive to earnings on an adjusted basis.
