Passes at UK's first Centurion aircraft engine course

All the aero-engineering personnel who attended the UK's first Civil Aviation Authority approved training course for the German manufactured Thielert's Centurion 1.7 diesel aircraft engine have passed. It was the first course held at Bournemouth-based Meridian Aviation's new demonstration and technical training centre. The company gained the UK, Ireland and Spanish Distributorship for Thielert in May 2002 and are already providing parts sales and converting various aircraft to the greener and economical Centurion engine that runs on the much cheaper JetA fuel and diesel.

The first to pass the 2 day course were Roy Gascoigne, Malcolm Worth and Steve Turner from Gamston-based Diamond Aircraft UK, Tim Wilson, Salim Chagani and Dilip Patel from Cabair, John Eagles, Colin O'Dell and Tim Brazier from Air Nimbus and Meridian Aviation's Head Technician Dave Munday and Parts Manager Paul Randall (Plate 1).
