New Wheelabrator range

Keywords: Abrasives, Aerospace industry

Surface preparation and finishing equipment specialist Wheelabrator Group reports that it is launching a new range of economically priced, entry level machines.

The SmartLine range, which claims the same high quality as established Wheelabrator Group products, features seven new machines including air, shot and suction blast technology.

Colin Ward, UK marketing manager at Wheelabrator Group, said: “We've designed the SmartLine range in response to demand for competitively priced machines that perform basic blasting functions and don't compromise on quality”.

“Traditionally we've specialised in custom-built machinery designed to exact customer specifications and aimed at providing a specific solution. The new SmartLine range takes advantage of some of the best technologies to create a standard specification, which can be manufactured at high volume”.

“As simple to use, no-nonsense products, SmartLine will make surface treatment technology accessible to all companies, irrespective of size or budget”.

Included in the range, the SmartLine Roller Conveyor and Overhead Rail shot blast machines have the potential to be fully operational in just one day, and offer a quick turnaround with easy assembly and commissioning. Both are fitted with an exhaust air system, with integral dust collector, allowing installation without further ducting or special foundations.

The robust SmartLine Roller Conveyor machine features an automatic abrasive removal system and has four Eze-fit blast wheels to economically and effectively treat steel sheets and profiles in one pass.

Incorporating a Y track rail and capable of shot blasting a variety of shapes, the SmartLine Overhead Rail machine allows one batch of components to be loaded while another is processed, and comes complete with two Eze-fit double disk blast wheels.

The Eco Air 1000 is a quick and efficient suction blast cabinet of steel construction with an ergonomically designed side door for easy loading. A pressure reducer allows operators to vary the intensity during blasting and an integral fine dust filter enhances performance and ensures visibility whilst working.

Completing the range are the SmartLine 1290S and 1514S suction fed and 1290P and 1514P pressure fed airblast cabinets. Suction fed machines provide a gentle surface treatment ideal for cosmetic finishing and mould cleaning, while pressure fed blasting allows high throughput for demanding applications such as rust and heat scale removal and surface texturing.

Wheelabrator Group owns, designs, manufactures and provides wheelblast, airblast and mass finishing equipment for surface preparation and cleaning, and serves a range of sectors, including the aerospace and automotive industries.

Its equipment, which ranges from simple to highly sophisticated, is used for the pre-treating, conditioning, preparing, finishing and post- manufacture finessing of mainly metal components.
