25,000th measuring machine from Carl Zeiss delivered to MTU

Carl Zeiss Industrielle Messtechnik GmbH reports that it has built its 25,000th coordinate measuring machine. The PRISMO machine was recently transferred to Munich-based MTU Aero Engines at in Oberkochen.

The coordinate measuring machine for MTU Aero Engines is a PRISMO navigator with an integrated rotary table. It is used primarily to measure engine components with mm accuracy. The machines feature the extremely narrow tolerances needed to meet the high safety standards placed on aircraft engines. In all, MTU already utilises 51 coordinate measuring machines from Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology, 33 of them from the PRISMO line.
