SHARED CATALOGUING : A NEW LOOK AT AN OLD PROBLEM

The concept of shared cataloguing is by no means new. Library literature over the past 120 years is studded with attempts to show the wastefulness of individual cataloguing and the virtues of systems of shared cataloguing, called in the past centralized or co‐operative cataloguing.
