Government‐funded information resources: a critique of government policy in providing and co‐ordinating information Available to Purchase

As the opening speaker at this conference, I shall take the opportunity to range rather widely over the topic. In particular, I shall be looking briefly at the whole question of government involvement in a national information policy. This will allow me to link together some of the areas that will be dealt with in detail by later speakers.
