Finding out about women

Recently somebody said to me: ‘Well of course it's not your sources which are alternative but your subject matter’. At first glance one is inclined to agree with this, but thinking about it later I thought: ‘alternative? 52 per cent of the population? Can we really call that ‘alternative’ (in the sense of minority) and if so what have we women done to get ourselves into that position?’
