The Consultancy and Research Unit (CRUS) of the Department of Information Studies at the University of Sheffield has recently carried out a number of investigations into the use of information in business with financial support from the British Library R & D Department. On the basis of this work it is possible to identify some characteristics of the business information user and of information needs in business which are of relevance to the aims and objectives of information management.
