Scientific current awareness in an international pharmaceutical R&D environment Available to Purchase

A system to provide scientific current awareness for R&D staff at SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals is described. The system is based on an innovative combination of personal bibliographic software (Pro‐Cite +)—for capturing and reformatting data from different sources — and the use of a large central database run under BASIS + text management software for duplicate removal and bulletin production. This combination has proven an effective and robust platform for the provision of the service on a multi‐site, international basis.
