I am confronted with what is really an impossible task. I have been asked to tell you about the Scottish Council, but even if I had as many hours at my disposal as I have minutes it would still be difficult to tell you all there is to tell about this unique and well‐doing body whose servant I have the honour to be. In the half‐hour at my disposal I can only touch in the briefest outline upon a few of the main features of the nature and work of the Council.
