Information and the nation: the 1997 Waigani Seminar

This paper describes Papua New Guinea’s 1997 Waigani Seminar on Information and the Nation and the main themes: traditional knowledge; publications; sectoral information needs; human resources; and information and communication technology developments in Papua New Guinea. There is a summary of the main recommendations and of workshops run in association with the seminar.
