The southern New Zealand city of Dunedin will play host to the 1998 New Zealand Library and Information Association Conference. Plenary speakers confirmed are Elizabeth Martinez, a past-president of the American Library Association; Min-min Chang, the founding University Librarian of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology;Jamie McKenzie, an international expert on thinking skills; Brian Lang, chief executive of the British Library; and Cheryll Southeran, chief executive of the Museum of New Zealand.
