This study examines the impact of green supply chain management (GSCM) on circular economy performance (CEP), environmental performance (ENP), and export performance (EXP). It also investigates the mediating roles of CEP and ENP in the GSCM-EXP relationship.
Data were collected through questionnaires filled out by 266 firms across various manufacturing industries in Jordan. The study employed structural equation modeling to test the research hypotheses after ensuring the validity and reliability of the constructs.
The results reveal that GSCM does not directly influence EXP. However, CEP and ENP fully mediate the GSCM-EXP relationship. GSCM positively affects both CEP and ENP, which in turn enhance EXP. Additionally, CEP mediates the GSCM-ENP relationship.
This study addresses a gap in the literature by exploring the indirect effects of GSCM on EXP through CEP and ENP, particularly in a developing country setting. It is among the first to investigate these mediating impacts, offering new insights into how GSCM can be leveraged to improve environmental and export performance.
