This study aims to identify the key enabling constructs of the Integrated Sustainable Green Lean Six Sigma Agile Manufacturing System (ISGLSAMS) and examine their impact on operational, market and sustainability performance in Indian manufacturing organizations. It addresses the need for a comprehensive integrated framework to achieve sustainable competitiveness in dynamic industrial environments.
A structured questionnaire survey was conducted among 540 Indian manufacturing organizations. The instrument was developed with expert input to measure the ISGLSAMS enabling and performance constructs. Structural equation modeling (SEM) using SmartPLS 4.0 was employed to analyze the relationships among the constructs and evaluate their impact on organizational performance outcomes.
The findings confirm that the ISGLSAMS enabling constructs significantly influence operational, market and sustainability performance. Physical resources and organizational culture, operational strategic practices, and information and communication systems emerged as the most influential constructs. Employee-related factors and the Keiretsu–Kraljic supply chain strategies also contributed positively to system adoption and performance. Moreover, ISGLSAMS implementation enhances product quality, cost efficiency, flexibility, responsiveness and customer satisfaction. It also strengthens sustainability through resource optimization, circular economy practices and improved social and environmental performance. Overall, the ISGLSAMS provides a robust framework for achieving sustainable competitiveness and superior performance in dynamic manufacturing environments.
This study develops and empirically validates a comprehensive ISGLSAMS framework that integrates sustainability, lean, green, Six Sigma and agile practices. It identifies the key enabling constructs and quantifies their performance impact using SEM. The findings provide practical guidance for manufacturing organizations and policymakers seeking sustainable, competitive and resilient manufacturing systems.
