New twist to co-operative libraries
New twist to co-operative libraries
Keywords: Co-operatives, Libraries, Colleges, Local governments
The University of Phoenix (Ariz.), a for-profit university, is trying to open a center in Roseland, NJ. However, New Jersey regulations require a traditional library if they are to issue a charter. Phoenix, after withdrawing an application for a New Jersey charter last year, is now close to reaching an agreement with New Jersey City University to share its campus library. University of Phoenix had come under heavy criticism, and those who pointed out its lack of academic essentials – such as library books – dubbed it"McUniversity" and "Drive Thru U."
