Mr D. H. Wright (Motor Industry Research Association)
Mr Wright referred to the remarkable degree of agreement between the work being done at the college at Cran-field and that being done at MIRA.
Rather than make any criticism of the work which had already been discussed, he wished to refer to the use of the information which was obtained by recording methods. It was not sufficient to set up strain gauge equipment in vehicles, bridges, ships, railway trains, etc. merely to produce information in the form of charts which would then be handed to designers. The important thing was to know what that information meant in terms of the life of components.
