1. FIRE ALARM SYSTEM

1. A fire alarm system operates throughout the building. Call points for sounding the alarm in the event of fire are installed at the front and back of each floor. The fire alarm is set off by breaking the glass front of the box and pressing the button.

2. Annex I provides details of the location of the call points.

3. The fire alarm system is tested weekly, (usually on Thursday mornings), by the security staff. Short, sharp rings of the alarm bells indicate that a test is being conducted, whereas a continuous ring for a prolonged period indicates that the alarm is for a genuine emergency.
