Observation of the underground structures of Alto Lindoso hydroelectric scheme

The Alto Lindoso hydroelectric power scheme is under construction in the north of Portugal. It consists essentially of an arch dam, an underground powerhouse complex and an underground hydraulic circuit.

An observation plan was prepared for the different stages of the life of the structures. Some observed measurements for the powerhouse complex are shown. A continuous evaluation of the underground structures was made, based namely on the comparison of the results obtained by observation with values predicted from numerical solutions.
