7 Materials behaviour under earthquake loading

The Committee on Materials for Dams of

ICOLD was asked by the Committee on Seis

mic Aspects of Dam Design (S. A. of D.D. ),

of which Mr. Lane acts as Chairman, to

collect information and to prepare a document

on material behaviour when subjected to repeat

ed high loadings, as from earthquakes.

The said paper will have to be included in the

final report of the Committee on S.A. of D.D,,

together with other reports dealing with design,

computation and environmental aspects related

to seismic risks.
