The set of geophysical measurements in boreholes, called well logging, represents a modern technology which provides important information for solution of different tasks, linked to geology and construction works as well as to the problems of the environment. New approaches and technologies for geophysical measurements have appeared recently. They have opened, together with the necessary equipment, new possibilities for well logging. The experience gained with well logging in the Czech Republic has proved to be useful in many projects in which the “Aquatest Well Logging Department” participated abroad recently e.g. in the engineering survey of dam and tunnel projects in Spain, on the building site of the Reichstag in Berlin and checking of sealing walls in Austria and Germany. In the following text, a few examples of different tasks linked directly to environment protection are mentioned.

ENVIRONMENTAL AUDITING AND RISK ASSESSMENT
USE OF THERMAL WATER FOR HEATING
WATER LEAKS FROM TANKS AND DAMS
WELL LOGGING AND ENGINEERING GEOLOGY
